The results showed 1) the ability to read short stories of experimental class students after using digital comic media became 94.29 with very high criteria; 2) the ability to read short stories of control class students after learning without using digital comic media became 81.14 with high criteria; 3) the results of the t-test analysis showed the tcount value of 2.969, the ttable value of 1.691 and sig. (2tailed) is 0.004. The value of tcount> ttable, namely 2.969> 1.691 while the sig value (2tailed) is 0.004 < 0.05. So, it can be concluded that digital comic media effectively improves the ability of students in class XI TKJ SMKN Manonjaya in learning to read short stories.
Karina BarlianiUsep KuswariDedi Koswara

Differentiated learning is a new learning approach in Indonesian education. There are still many misconceptions about it, especially in the mapping learning groups. Still, many teachers map students based on learning styles and cognitive levels. This is prohibited in differentiated learning. Thus, this research aims to describe how learning group mapping in differentiated learning in Indonesian language subjects. The method used is library research through scientific research from several sources such as books, relevant research results, and articles from various journals. Based on the research results, learning group mapping is classified based on learning readiness, students' initial understanding of the material to be learned, or based on students' interests. In the context of Indonesian language learning, teachers can consider learning readiness through learners' language skills capital, initial understanding of Indonesian language material to be learned, and learners' interests in the context of Indonesian language learning. The results of this study hoped to be a source of reference for other researchers or teachers when determining study groups. Other researchers can also further research by looking at its effectiveness quantitatively.
Wendy Fernando BangunMerlin ZarraMukhlash AbrarPriyanto Priyanto

http://e-journal.stkipsiliwangi.ac.id/index.php/semantik/article/view/5586

The background of this study is the low literacy skills of students and the teachers' suboptimal implementation of various learning methods. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the storytelling method on the literacy skills of fifth grade students of SDN 1 Pulosaren. This study uses a quantitative method of Pre-experimental research type with the One Group Pretest Posttest Design model. The subjects of the study were selected by saturated sampling. The sample taken was 30 fifth grade students of SDN 1 Pulosaren. The data collection method used a multiple choice test. The prerequisite analysis test consisted of a normality test. Data analysis used a non-parametric statistical technique, namely the Wilcoxon Test assisted by the IBM Statistic for Windows SPSS 25.0 program. The results of the study showed a Sig value of 0.000 <0.05, so H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. Based on the hypothesis test, it can be concluded that the storytelling method has a significant effect on the literacy skills of fifth grade students of SDN 1 Plosaren. Furthermore, the storytelling method can be used as an alternative method in the learning process regarding learning methods that can stimulate students' literacy skills.
Bernika Nafa Dimiati BernikaRiawan Yudhi PurwokoNur Ngazizah

http://e-journal.stkipsiliwangi.ac.id/index.php/semantik/article/view/5602

This study investigates the articulatory challenges faced by 20 American BIPA learners in pronouncing Indonesian consonants. Employing a qualitative descriptive method, the research focuses on analyzing phonetic deviations based on recorded oral data. A total of 153 utterances were examined to identify patterns in consonant realizations. The findings reveal significant difficulties in articulating specific consonant phonemes, including bilabial plosives [b], [p], glottal fricatives [h], apico-alveolar plosives [d], [t], dorso-velar plosives [g], [k], lamino-palatal affricates [tʃ], and postalveolar affricates [dʒ]. The results demonstrate recurring phonological processes such as substitution, deletion, and addition of sounds. Substitution patterns include [t] realized as [tʃ] or [d] and [dʒ] as [tʃ]. Deletion frequently occurs in final consonants, particularly [h], [t], and [g]. Additionally, some learners added glides [tʃj] or modified articulations [ŋˈɡ], [dʒj] to accommodate unknown phonemes. This study emphasizes the need for targeted pronunciation training in BIPA programs, such as minimal pair analysis, word and sentence repetition, with a focus on consonant production accuracy through repetitive exercises and phonetic awareness activities. By addressing these challenges, BIPA teachers’ or instructors can be better in supporting learners to achieve more native-like pronunciation.
Dewi Wahyuning AstutiLia Maulia IndrayaniErlina Erlina

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the KIK-IRMA learning model using varied media to enhance students' skills in procedural text learning at the junior high school level. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, involving ninth-grade students in one of Indonesia's junior high schools. The media utilized included Canva, YouTube, and paper-based infographics, selected to align with students' learning styles and enrich their learning experiences. The findings revealed that the use of Canva and YouTube significantly boosted students' motivation and comprehension of procedural texts by over 80%, while paper-based infographics contributed to improving visual literacy and information structuring skills. Challenges included limitations in technological infrastructure and teachers' competence in utilizing digital media. This study contributes to the development of technology-based learning strategies relevant to students' needs in the digital era. The implications suggest the need to strengthen schools' technological capacity and diversify learning media.
renilda pratiwi yolandini reniIrma Suryani IrmaWarni Warni

http://e-journal.stkipsiliwangi.ac.id/index.php/semantik/article/view/5696

This study aims to examine the effect of technology-based instructional materials on the reading motivation of junior high school students. Using a quantitative method with a pretest-posttest control group experimental design, the study compared two groups: the experimental group, which was provided with interactive technology-based instructional materials, and the control group, which used conventional instructional materials. The results showed a significant increase in reading motivation in the experimental group compared to the control group. T-test analysis indicated that the change in reading motivation in the experimental group (p = 0.001) was greater than in the control group (p = 0.123). These findings affirm that technology-based instructional materials can significantly enhance the reading motivation of junior high school students, positively impacting their engagement and learning outcomes. Based on these results, the study recommends the integration of technology into education to improve motivation and the quality of learning in schools.
Mekar IsmayaniVismaia S DamaiantiYeti MulyatiAndoyo Sastromiharjo
