This is because every family faces unique challenges and is required to adapt, cope with, and recover from various difficulties and obstacles. These challenges may include economic issues, health problems, technological advancements, social changes, and other various problems. Gradually, these issues can weaken the family's function in shaping character and facilitating child development. The objective of this case study is to examine how the communication process serves as a key factor in building family resilience among families with young children. This qualitative research employed a case study approach with three families with young children as subjects. Data was collected through interviews and observations, and analyzed using thematic analysis. The results indicate the presence of components of the communication process as a key to family resilience in the three participating families. All three participating families have established guidelines for communication, avoiding ambiguity, maintaining positive interactions, and having guidelines for resolving existing problems.
2024-10-30T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Aghnia Farrassyania Azhar, Regita Musfita , Diantifani Rizkita, Ratna Dwi Nurcahyanihttps://e-journal.stkipsiliwangi.ac.id/index.php/tunas-siliwangi/article/view/5139Character Building in Early Childhood: Insights from the Living Values Education Program (LVEP) 2024-09-06T04:32:15+00:00Nana Muadhinah[email protected]Munawwarah Munawwarah[email protected]
Character education is crucial, especially in Indonesia, where societal values, norms, and morals are increasingly deviating. Many individuals involved in these deviations are from the younger generation, particularly school-aged children. This research adopts a qualitative approach, with the principal and three teachers from each class serving as the primary data sources. Data collection methods include observation and interviews using instruments such as observation guidelines and interview guidelines. Data analysis which consists of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings of the study reveal significant changes in children's character development post-evaluation. Improvements were observed in several areas: emotional regulation (children are better able to manage their emotions), social skills (increased ability to share and cooperate), independence (greater confidence in decision-making), discipline (more rule-abiding and organized), moral development (enhanced understanding of right and wrong), and motor skills (better physical coordination). These changes varied depending on the methods employed and the individual characteristics of each child.
2024-10-30T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Nana Muadhinah, Munawwarah Munawwarahhttps://e-journal.stkipsiliwangi.ac.id/index.php/tunas-siliwangi/article/view/5169Reconceptualization of school readiness: neoliberal paradigm and privatization in early childhood education2024-09-06T06:01:57+00:00Regita Musfita Regita[email protected]Aghnia Farrassyania Azhar[email protected]Ratna Dwi Nurcahyani[email protected]Diantifani Rizkita[email protected]
Privatization and neoliberalism have significantly impacted educational policies, exacerbating inequalities in access to education, particularly for children from low-socioeconomic backgrounds. This study investigated the effects of these policies on access, quality, and character development at TK Cendani, Bandung. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through observation and interviews and analyzed using Grounded Theory. The findings revealed a paradoxical interplay between inclusivity and exclusivity within the education system. Children from disadvantaged backgrounds were often denied equitable opportunities, leading to discriminatory practices that hindered their development. Teachers' needs frequently took precedence over students', resulting in an imbalanced teaching and learning environment. Moreover, the proliferation of elite schools accessible only to children from affluent families further exacerbated educational disparities. These results underscore the necessity for a more inclusive educational policy that harmonizes academic achievement with the development of children's character.
2024-10-30T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Regita Musfita Regita, Aghnia Farrassyania Azhar, Ratna Dwi Nurcahyani, Diantifani Rizkitahttps://e-journal.stkipsiliwangi.ac.id/index.php/tunas-siliwangi/article/view/5174Grow children's curiosity in science activities through the problem based learning model2024-09-07T06:14:14+00:00Diantifani Rizkita[email protected]Ratna Dwi Nurcahyani[email protected]Regita Musfita[email protected]Aghnia Farrassyania Azhar[email protected]
Problem based learning model (PBL) has been implemented in the learning process in PAUD. The application of PBL in learning activities is carried out to develop children's abilities in identifying and finding solutions to problems that children are facing, such as in science play activities. One of the problems that occurs is related to the development of curiosity , especially those related to the ability to analyze and develop initiatives to describe problems faced by children when playing. This study was conducted to determine the extent to which the use of PBL learning models based on science activities can be used to develop the curiosity of children aged 4- 5 years in Kindergarten 'LSUPI' totaling 30 children. Data collection was carried out by using triangulation techniques in the form of observation, interviews and documentation studies , resulting in qualitative descriptive analysis techniques in the form of percentages and explanations . As a result, it is known that the application of the learning model PBL based on science activities is a tool for children to encourage and grow 8 indicators of curiosity when carrying out learning activities.
2024-10-30T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Diantifani Rizkita, Ratna Dwi Nurcahyani, Regita Musfita, Aghnia Farrassyania Azharhttps://e-journal.stkipsiliwangi.ac.id/index.php/tunas-siliwangi/article/view/5171Teachers' perspectives on picture books themed on disasters for early childhood2024-09-07T06:21:33+00:00Ratna Dwi Nurcahyani[email protected]Aghnia Farrassyania Azhar[email protected]Regita Musfita[email protected]Diantifani Rizkita[email protected]
In this study, the author discusses teachers' perspectives on illustrated storybooks in introducing disaster preparedness to young children. As gadgets become more integrated into the family environment, there is a need to explore whether their use may negatively affect children's ability to interact and develop socially. To achieve this goal, the study adopts a quantitative approach and uses cluster random sampling to select 150 parents whose children are enrolled in five kindergartens (TK) in Natar District. These children are between five and six years old, which is a critical period in their social development. Data collection in this research will be done through a structured questionnaire distributed to the parents. This questionnaire is designed to capture both the frequency of gadget use and various aspects of children's social behavior. The study uses Pearson Product Moment Correlation Analysis to examine the relationship between these two variables. In terms of data analysis, the results show a statistically significant relationship between gadget use and social behavior. With a Pearson correlation coefficient of -0.930 and a significance level (sig. 2-tailed) of 0.000 (which is less than the 0.05 threshold), the results indicate a strong, negative correlation. This suggests that higher levels of gadget use are associated with poorer social behavior in children. In conclusion, the study provides evidence that gadget use in young children has a significant impact on social behavior.
2024-10-30T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Putri Indah Sarihttps://e-journal.stkipsiliwangi.ac.id/index.php/tunas-siliwangi/article/view/4999Addressing educational disparities: the role of policy in expanding early childhood education access in 3T areas2024-09-07T06:34:07+00:00Putri Indah Sari[email protected]Rudiyanto Rudiyanto[email protected]Mubiar Agustin[email protected]
Poor health can hinder a child''s overall development. This will have a positive impact on the quality of teaching and learning in ECE. 3) Curriculum Development and Learning 4) Procurement of Teaching Materials and Learning Media: You can use the budget to purchase high-quality teaching materials and learning media It is important that action is taken by the government to address disparities in access to education in disadvantaged, frontier and outermost (3T) areas
2024-10-30T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Putri Indah Sari, Rudiyanto Rudiyanto, Mubiar Agustinhttps://e-journal.stkipsiliwangi.ac.id/index.php/tunas-siliwangi/article/view/5295The effectiveness of the studycat application on early childhood english vocabulary mastery in recognizing animals at Kemala Bhayangkari 03 Kindergarten, Alai Padang2024-10-23T11:41:06+00:00Hanifah Amran Nifa[email protected]Elise Muryanti[email protected]
Considerable challenges, such as the underutilization of digital media for pre-literacy instruction, have prompted this study. Examining the efficacy of the Studycat app in teaching young children English vocabulary is the primary goal of this study. This study used a quasi-experimental design. In this research, 80 youngsters served as the population. Summarized in Indonesian. Various tests are used to analyze the data, including those for normality, homogeneity, hypothesis testing, and effect size. The comparison between the experimental and control groups' pre- and post-test averages revealed that the former had an average of 11.5 and 9.3, respectively, while the latter had an average of 11 after the experiment. This distinction arises because the Studycat app piques the attention of youngsters more than other learning tools since it allows them to play the app directly. The hypothesis test findings show this to be true since Levene's test of variance yields a significance value (sig) of 0.651 > 0.05. It follows that the control group and the experimental group have similar or identical variances in the N-gain data. Accordingly, it is reasonable to assume that instructors' approaches to teaching English to young students vary significantly from the impact of the Studycat app.
2024-10-30T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Hanifah Amran Nifa, Elise Muryantihttps://e-journal.stkipsiliwangi.ac.id/index.php/tunas-siliwangi/article/view/5296The effectiveness of using story-based pop-up book media on the speaking skills of children aged 5-6 years in the Pembina Padang State Kindergarten2024-10-23T11:56:44+00:00Chika Maida Yanti[email protected]Yulsyofriend Yulsyofriend[email protected]
This research was motivated by the problem of children's lack of speaking skills which have not yet developed optimally. There are various ways that can be done to develop children's speaking skills through telling stories using media that can attract children's attention, such as using pop-up book media using test and observation data collection techniques. The aim of this research is to find out how effective the use of pop-up book media is on children's speaking skills. This research uses quasi-experiment as a quantitative method. The population of this study was all children in the Pembina Padang State Kindergarten, while the sample was 14 children in each class B1 and B2. The average pre-test score of the experimental group was 9.57 and the average post-test score was 19.07. The average pre-test score for the control group was 10.50, while the average post-test score was 15.00. The final data set from the effect size test shows a value of d > 1.00, with a value of d=14.42 which is classified as strong, which means that the use of story-based pop-up book media is effective in improving the speaking skills of young children.
2024-10-30T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Chika Maida Yanti, Yulsyofriend Yulsyofriend
