Faktor yang Mempengaruhi Minat Belajar Bahasa Inggris Siswa di Salah Satu SMP Negeri di Jakarta

Tingkat keberhasilan siswa di sekolah sangat dipengaruhi oleh seberapa besar mereka menikmati belajar. Motivasi untuk belajar bahasa Inggris berbeda-beda di antara para siswa. Sebuah pendekatan metode campuran, baik kuantitatif maupun kualitatif, digunakan untuk mendeskripsikan beberapa faktor dan faktor dominan yang mempengaruhi minat siswa dalam belajar bahasa Inggris. Siswa kelas delapan di salah satu Sekolah Menengah Pertama negeri di Jakarta, yang melibatkan 279 peserta, disurvei dan diwawancarai untuk mengumpulkan data. Sebanyak 56 orang, atau 20% dari populasi, dipilih. Temuan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa faktor internal, yang terdiri dari aspek fisik dan non-fisik seperti perhatian, kesiapan, dan kecerdasan dapat mempengaruhi minat siswa dalam belajar bahasa Inggris. Selain itu, faktor eksternal dari luar individu, seperti keluarga dan sekolah-yang meliputi guru dan fasilitas-dan teman sebaya berkontribusi terhadap minat belajar mereka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor internal menunjukkan angka 68,93%, sedangkan faktor eksternal menunjukkan angka 59,34%. Hasil wawancara menunjukkan bahwa faktor internal memiliki respon yang positif. Oleh karena itu, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor internal lebih tinggi daripada faktor eksternal dalam mempengaruhi minat belajar bahasa Inggris siswa. Faktor internal yang paling mempengaruhi adalah faktor psikologis, yaitu intelegensi, kesiapan, dan perhatian, daripada faktor fisik.Referensi
