Author Guidelines

Primaryedu, Journal of Primary Teacher Education, published by the Primary Teacher Education Study Program of STKIP Siliwangi Bandung (IKIP Siliwangi), Indonesia, is an international journal that provides a forum for publishing original research articles and review articles. It is published twice a year, in February and September. Scientific articles dealing with design research, development research, and similar topics are particularly welcome. The journal encompasses research articles, original research reports, reviews, short communications, and scientific commentaries in the field of Primary Teacher Education.

All papers submitted to the journal should be written in proper English or Bahasa Indonesia. Authors for whom English is not their native language are encouraged to have their papers checked for grammar and clarity before submission. English language and copyediting services can be provided by International Science Editing and Asia Science Editing. Submitted works must not have been published or submitted for publication elsewhere. The official languages for manuscripts in Primaryedu are English and Bahasa Indonesia.

1. General Author Guidelines

All manuscripts must be submitted to the Primaryedu Editorial Office via Online Submission at the e-journal portal: http://e-journal.stkipsiliwangi.ac.id/index.php/primaryedu. Authors must register as Authors and/or Reviewers on this platform. If authors encounter issues with online submission, please contact the Editorial Office at: [email protected].

The following documents should accompany the manuscripts submitted online as supplementary files:

• A signed Copyright Transfer Agreement (CTA) form (scanned copy).
• A covering letter outlining the paper's basic findings and their significance.

Three types of manuscripts are acceptable for publication:

1. Original Research Articles
2. Review Articles
3. Short Communications

2. Manuscript Template

Manuscripts should be prepared according to the author guidelines using the provided MS Word or PDF templates. Templates can be downloaded [here (MS Word)] or [here (PDF)].

3. Reviewing of Manuscripts

Every submitted paper is independently reviewed by at least two peer reviewers. Decisions regarding publication, amendments, or rejection are based on their recommendations. If reviewers consider a manuscript unsuitable for publication, the authors will receive a statement explaining the decision within three months of submission.

4. Revision of Manuscripts

Manuscripts sent back for revision must be returned promptly. Revised manuscripts can be resubmitted via the Online Submission Interface (link). Manuscripts returned more than three months after the revision request will be treated as new submissions.

5. Graphical Abstract

A Graphical Abstract is mandatory and should summarize the article concisely in a pictorial form. Submit the graphical abstract as a separate file during online submission or via email (after manuscript acceptance) to [email protected]. Ensure the manuscript number is included in the email subject.

Image specifications:

• Minimum size: 531 × 1328 pixels (h × w) or proportionally larger.
• Readable size: 5 × 13 cm at 96 dpi.
• File formats: TIFF, EPS, JPG, PDF, or MS Office files.

7. Guidelines for Online Submission

Authors must register at the journal's online submission portal (link). The submission process consists of five steps:

1. Starting the Submission: Select the appropriate section (e.g., Original Research Articles, Review Articles, or Short Communications) and complete the submission checklist.
2. Uploading the Submission: Upload the manuscript file.
3. Entering Submission Metadata: Provide detailed author metadata, manuscript title, abstract, and keywords.
4. Uploading Supplementary Files: Upload the covering letter and signed Copyright Transfer Agreement form.
5. Confirming the Submission: Review and finalize the submission.

After submission, authors will receive a confirmation email and can track their submission status online.

8. Author Fee (Page Charge)

Primaryedu is an open-access journal. Since 2017, no fees are charged at submission. Payment is required only after the manuscript is accepted for publication.

9. User Rights

All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA). Articles are open access and free for everyone to read and download.

Manuscript Sections and Format

Title Page:
Include the title (14 pt, bold), author names (12 pt), affiliations (10 pt), and contact details of the corresponding author.

Abstract:
Provide a concise abstract (200 words max) in both English and Bahasa Indonesia, followed by up to five keywords.

Main Sections:

• Introduction: State the purpose and background.
• Methods: Provide sufficient technical details for replication.
• Results and Discussion: Present and interpret findings.
• Conclusion: Summarize the study's significance.
• Acknowledgments (optional): Mention funding sources.
• References: Follow APA style.

Figures and Tables:
Include clear titles and captions, and ensure they are numbered consecutively.
