Correction and Retraction
Jurnal Tunas Siliwangi is committed to maintaining the accuracy, transparency, and integrity of the scholarly record. The journal handles corrections, expressions of concern, and retractions in accordance with established publication ethics principles, including the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidance, where applicable.
The journal may take the following actions when errors or concerns are identified in a published article:
- Erratum. An erratum may be published to correct a significant error introduced by the journal during the editorial or production process that affects the accuracy or interpretation of the published article.
- Corrigendum. A corrigendum may be published to correct a significant error made by the author(s) that does not invalidate the main findings or conclusions of the article.
- Expression of Concern. An expression of concern may be issued when serious questions arise regarding the reliability or ethical integrity of a published article and the available evidence is insufficient to reach a final conclusion, including while an investigation is ongoing.
- Retraction. A retraction may be issued when an article's findings are unreliable because of major errors, or when serious publication ethics violations are established. Such violations may include plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, duplicate publication, unethical research practices, or other forms of misconduct that undermine the reliability or integrity of the scholarly record. A retraction may be requested by the author(s) or initiated by the editor when justified by the evidence.
Procedures
When a potential error or ethical concern involving a published article is reported, the editorial team will assess the available information and, where appropriate, request clarification or supporting evidence from the author(s) and other relevant parties. The journal will evaluate the matter fairly and objectively, giving the parties concerned an appropriate opportunity to respond.
The editorial team will determine the appropriate action based on the nature and seriousness of the issue, the reliability of the published findings, and relevant publication ethics guidance. The journal may consult independent experts or the relevant institution when necessary.
Publication and Visibility of Notices
Correction notices, expressions of concern, and retraction notices will clearly identify the affected article and explain the reason for the action, subject to applicable confidentiality and legal requirements. Notices will be linked to the original article to ensure that readers can identify the relationship between the notice and the publication.
Where technically and administratively applicable, notices and associated metadata will be registered or updated with Crossref or other relevant scholarly indexing and metadata services.
Retracted articles will generally remain accessible on the journal website as part of the scholarly record, unless legal or other exceptional circumstances require otherwise. The article will be clearly marked as “RETRACTED”, and a retraction notice explaining the reason for the retraction will be provided and linked to the original publication.
Jurnal Tunas Siliwangi is committed to handling corrections and retractions transparently, consistently, and responsibly to preserve trust in scholarly publishing, particularly in research related to early childhood education and associated fields.
