AN ANALYSIS OF STUDENTS' MOTIVATION IN LEARNING ENGLISH

Motivasi siswa merupakan kunci terpenting yang mempunyai dampak penting dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui motivasi yang paling mempengaruhi siswa dan mengeksplorasi persepsi siswa tentang strategi pengajaran motivasi untuk meningkatkan motivasi mereka belajar bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini berlangsung di salah satu SMK di Indramayu yang melibatkan 12 siswa kelas X sebagai partisipan. Penelitian ini menggunakan kuesioner, wawancara, dan observasi untuk mengumpulkan data. Data dianalisis secara kualitatif dengan menggunakan teknik interaktif. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa 3 siswa (25%) mendapatkan persentase motivasi ekstrinsik lebih tinggi, sedangkan 9 siswa (75%) mendapatkan sebaliknya. Ditemukan bahwa motivasi intrinsik memiliki pengaruh paling besar terhadap siswa belajar bahasa Inggris. Hasil wawancara dan observasi menunjukkan bahwa siswa memberikan tanggapan positif terhadap strategi pengajaran motivasi yang diterapkan gurunya. Selain itu, mereka menganggap guru merupakan faktor penting yang berhasil memotivasi mereka untuk belajar bahasa Inggris. Disarankan agar guru memahami karakteristik siswanya sebelum memutuskan untuk membuat dan menerapkan strategi kreatif tertentu. Oleh karena itu, guru dapat merancang metode pembelajaran yang efektif yang mendorong siswa untuk belajar bahasa Inggris.Referensi
