Menilai Kemahiran Bahasa Inggris Pemandu Wisata di Penglipuran: Perspektif Kompetensi Komunikatif

Penelitian ini menganalisis kemahiran bahasa Inggris pemandu wisata di Desa Penglipuran, Bali, dengan fokus khusus pada kompetensi komunikatif. Menggunakan model Canale dan Swain sebagai kerangka kerja, penelitian ini menilai kemampuan pemandu wisata dalam hal tata bahasa, sosiolinguistik, wacana, dan strategi. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner dan observasi. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa meskipun pemandu wisata menunjukkan penguasaan tata bahasa dan kosakata bahasa Inggris yang baik secara umum, tantangan muncul di area seperti penyusunan kalimat kompleks, ungkapan idiomatik, dan menangani pertanyaan wisatawan yang tidak terduga. Meskipun pemandu wisata menunjukkan kemampuan yang kuat untuk beradaptasi dengan berbagai situasi komunikasi, masih ada ruang untuk perbaikan dalam hal memperluas kosakata dan meningkatkan kesadaran budaya untuk memberikan pengalaman wisata yang lebih mendalam. Penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya program pelatihan bahasa yang berkelanjutan yang disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan spesifik para profesional pariwisata.
