PERBEDAAN GENDER PADA MAHASISWA SARJANA EFL DALAM PEMANFAATAN APLIKASI MENULIS BERBANTUAN AI

Kecerdasan Buatan (AI) telah menjadi isu penting dalam penulisan akademis karena dapat membantu mahasiswa sarjana dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis mereka. Studi ini menyelidiki bagaimana aplikasi penulisan berbantuan AI digunakan oleh mahasiswa sarjana pria dan wanita dalam konteks Bahasa Inggris sebagai Bahasa Asing (EFL). Pendekatan metode campuran digunakan, menggabungkan data kuantitatif dari kuesioner dan wawasan kualitatif dari wawancara dengan 54 mahasiswa, yang dibagi rata antara 27 perempuan dan 27 laki-laki. Temuan tersebut mengungkapkan tidak ada perbedaan gender yang signifikan saat menggunakan aplikasi penulisan yang disempurnakan AI. Baik mahasiswa pria maupun wanita melaporkan manfaat seperti peningkatan kemahiran menulis, mengurangi kecemasan menulis, dan meningkatkan tata bahasa dan kosakata. Namun, muncul kekhawatiran tentang ketergantungan yang berlebihan pada alat-alat ini, yang dapat menghambat pemikiran kritis dan kreativitas. Studi ini menyoroti pentingnya menyeimbangkan alat AI dengan pendidikan menulis tradisional untuk menumbuhkan kemampuan menulis yang komprehensif. Penelitian ini menggarisbawahi meningkatnya peran AI dalam lingkungan akademis dan menyerukan eksplorasi lebih lanjut tentang dampak jangka panjang AI pada keterampilan menulis, terutama yang menyangkut kemampuan analitis dan kreatif. Temuan ini juga menunjukkan perlunya strategi pedagogi khusus yang menggabungkan AI sambil mempromosikan pemikiran mandiri dan kreativitas.
