Author Guidelines

PrimaryEdu is an academic journal published by the Primary Teacher Education Study Program of STKIP Siliwangi (IKIP Siliwangi) Bandung, Indonesia. It publishes original research articles, review articles, and short communications, with a particular emphasis on design research, development research, and educational innovation in Primary Teacher Education.
Publication frequency: Twice a year (February and September).

Manuscripts can be written in English or Bahasa Indonesia. Authors are encouraged to ensure proper language usage prior to submission. Official manuscript languages: English. Manuscripts should follow the PrimaryEdu Template available for download: [MS Word Template Link]


1. Manuscript Submission

  • All manuscripts must be submitted via the journal’s online submission system

  • Authors must register as Authors 

  • For technical assistance, contact: [email protected].

Documents required during submission:

  • A signed Copyright Transfer Agreement (CTA) form (uploaded as a supplementary file).

  • A Cover Letter outlining the article's contribution and significance.

Accepted manuscript types:

2. Manuscript Preparation

Manuscripts should follow the PrimaryEdu Template available for download:

Title Page

  • Title: Times New Roman, 16 pt, bold, centered.

  • Authors: Name(s), affiliation(s), and country. Times New Roman 11 pt bold.

  • Corresponding author’s email.

Abstract

  • Length: 150–200 words.

  • Content: State briefly the background, purpose, methods, main results, and conclusions.

  • Language: Abstract must be written in English 

  • Keywords: Maximum of five keywords.

Manuscript Structure

  • Introduction: Background, research problem, review of related works, research novelty.

  • Method: Research design, procedures, data collection, and analysis.

  • Results and Discussion: Findings and interpretation supported by figures/tables.

  • Conclusion: Key takeaways presented as numbered points.

  • Acknowledgments (optional): Acknowledge funding or assistance.

  • References: Using APA 7th Edition style.

Formatting Details

  • Manuscript Length:

    • Research article: maximum 15 pages

    • Review/survey article: maximum 20 pages

  • Word count: minimum 4000 words, excluding reference.

  • Margins: Left/Top 2.5 cm, Right/Bottom 2 cm.

  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt, single spacing.


3. Figures and Tables

  • Figures, diagrams, and tables must be centered, numbered sequentially, and have clear captions.

  • Refer to each figure/table within the main text.


4. Reviewing Process

  • Manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer-review by at least two reviewers.

  • Decision: Accepted, Revision required, or Rejected, based on reviewer feedback.

  • Review timeline: Initial decision within three months after submission.


5. Revision Policy

  • Revisions must be resubmitted promptly (preferably within three months).

  • Delayed revisions may be treated as new submissions.


6. Graphical Abstract

  • A Graphical Abstract is mandatory after acceptance.

  • Requirements:

    • Minimum size: 531 × 1328 pixels (h × w).

    • Format: TIFF, EPS, JPG, PDF, or MS Office files.

    • Submission: Uploaded separately or emailed to [email protected]


7. Author Fees

  • No submission fees.

  • Payment is required only after manuscript acceptance to cover publication costs.


8. Copyright and License

  • Articles are published under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA).

  • Open access: free to read, download, and redistribute with attribution.


9. Reference Requirements

  • Use APA 7th Edition citation style.

  • Minimum references:

    • 25 references for original research articles.

    • 50 references for review articles.

  • Sources:

    • 80% must be from primary references (journals, theses, conference proceedings).

    • 75% of references must be published within the last five years.

  • Reference managers such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote are highly recommended.
