ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE TOOLS IN WRITING CLASS: STUDENTS’ PREFERENCES AND LECTURERS’ PERCEPTIONS

Abstrak

Salah satu manfaat kecerdasan buatan dalam bidang pendidikan adalah membantu dalam menulis. Jadi tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui penggunaan alat AI ini dalam kelas menulis yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa EFL, dengan fokus pada persepsi dosen terhadap penggunaan alat tersebut. Menggunakan metode kualitatif dan desain penelitian ini adalah studi kasus. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan angket untuk mengumpulkan informasi dan alat AI yang digunakan mahasiswa, serta proses wawancara untuk mengetahui persepsi dosen terhadap penggunaan alat AI saat menulis. Penelitian ini mengumpulkan data dari sepuluh mahasiswa EFL dan tiga dosen dari tiga universitas berbeda di Indonesia. Temuan mengungkapkan bahwa alat AI yang digunakan siswa di kelas menulis adalah Quillbot, Grammerly, Chat-Gpt, Humata AI, Resume AI, Jenni AI, Perplexity, Deepl, AI Writing. Selain itu pandangan para dosen terhadap alat ini juga sepakat bahwa alat tulis AI ini dapat memberikan pengaruh terhadap tulisan mahasiswa, dan para dosen juga sepakat bahwa alat ini mendapat respon yang positif dan dapat digunakan serta dimanfaatkan dalam kelas menulis sebagai asalkan tidak melanggar kode tertulis dan tidak ketergantungan.
