Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the character of children's love for the motherland through the implementation of traditional games in PAUD institutions. This study uses descriptive research methods with a quantitative approach, data collection techniques in the form of observation and percentage descriptive data analysis. The subjects in this study were 8 children consisting of 4 boys and 4 girls, aged 5-6 years at KOBER Bina Insani. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the character of loving the motherland in children can be stimulated through the implementation of traditional games which are integrated into learning activities in PAUD institutions with indicators; (1) Able to know and preserve the culture of the region with a percentage of 79.1%; (2) Able to appreciate and respect the opinions of others with a percentage of 78%; (3) Accustomed to working together and deliberating in solving problems with a percentage of 77%. In addition to the character of love for the motherland, traditional games can also help children master emotional skills (feeling win, lose), social (interacting with others), moral (respecting others) and physical (there are elements of running, walking and jumping) which are important. for the growth and development of children, as well as to stimulate intelligence in children, both spiritual intelligence, the ability to understand oneself, interpersonal intelligence and also intelligence about the beauty of nature, and stimulate children's mathematical abilities (child cognitive).
